Housing Update: As of today, my home has officially sold and the sale is completed! For those who haven't been in the circle, the house sell was rough. I had the intent of putting my home up for sale back in July 2024, not knowing what a challenge it would eventually be. Both my realtor and I thought it would sell quick and be an easy process, just like the original purchase was. This was far from the case.
After having a water line bust, flooding several rooms in the home, having reconstruction and insurance issues throughout the process, all to get back up for sale in early October. Once it was on the market, we had several showings but no offers, and that continued to happen till December, when we had to change our strategy and lower the price point. Being around the holidays, we didn't have much traffic till January, in which we finally got an offer and accepted.
Since that, the inspection report found several issues with the home, some minor, and some major. Along with all of this, the major issues required the HOA to be involved on what they wanted to do to conduct fixing things. That being said, we had to delay our closing process several times while the HOA also in the process of switching to a different company.
When I started this process of packing up my home and moving across the country, I knew it would be challenging and difficult, but I never expected this. One thing I can say, is that I am relieved that this step is done!
This sale would have not been possible without having a realtor who gave more than anyone could ask. He was there to help monitor things as the water damage was being looked at and the reconstruction was going down. He was there with any type of contact I needed to help fix any other issues the home needed. He was there to explain and sympathize when the times got tough. He has been rock solid through this entire process even when I was at my end. Gene Finley is a rockstar for sure!
